La Muse is first and foremost a large old house nestling in the heart of a village in the Montagne Noire. All ten rooms overlook a densely wooded valley, a vast, soothing landscape that encourages concentration.
People come here to write, paint, draw, photograph, compose a concerto or songs… It’s also the ideal place to think about a project, imagine a novel, complete a doctoral thesis, take inspiration from nature or from what you’ve read, and explore new avenues. Everyone is free, with no constraints, to write a hundred pages a day or dream up the perfect canvas, to spend their days alone or share the creative energy of the other residents.
Time at La Muse takes on another dimension: it’s suspended. It’s a strange feeling, but very quickly you forget the days and hours and are immersed in your own time.
