ENTRE FORÊT ET TOURBIÈRE

Around the lake, a pleasant path winds through the forest, revealing the banks and small beaches. This ‘tour of the lake’ will delight children and parents alike. Let our imagination run away with us: for 300 years, the Romans organised a large metallurgical site dedicated to iron. A site involving lumberjacks, blacksmiths, charcoal burners, masons, hauliers and metallurgists.

At the head of the lake, footbridges allow you to cross the wetland and discover this special biotope, classified as an SNA (Sensitive Natural Areas) and home to the Droséra rotondifolia, a protected carnivorous plant. ‘Entre forêt et tourbière’ (Between forest and peat bog) takes you around Bois Grand and deep into the undergrowth.
