The ‘Oeil de Carcassonne’ gîte at Domaine de Fontrougé is located in the heart of the Montagne Noire, in an old renovated farmhouse, 7 kilometres as the crow flies from the 4 Châteaux of Lastours, 20 minutes from the medieval city of Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in a region deeply marked by Cathar history.
The ground floor of the L’Oeil de Carcassonne gîte comprises a kitchen-dining room with television and a toilet with washing machine.
Upstairs, there are two large bedrooms, one with a balcony and a double bed (140cm), a single bed (90cm) and a cot, and the other with 4 single beds (90cm). A shower room with Italian shower and separate WC are available on the first floor.
From the gîte, tourists can take advantage of the many signposted footpaths to reach the pretty surrounding villages. Spending a few days at the ‘L’Œil de Carcassonne’ gîte is a guarantee of timeless moments, lulled by the peace and quiet of the place, and allowing you to think of nothing but the present moment. The gîte is a place of pure happiness for young and old, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
To get to the gîte: D118, towards Mazamet, after Cuxac-Cabardès and after the large bend with wooden tables, take the first private road on the right. The gîte is signposted.
If you are coming from Mazamet, still on the D118, after Les Martys, at the village of Caudebronde, take the private road on the left.
