COEUR DE BROUSSES

For me, Brousses-et-Villaret is the ideal village, situated between two very different natural areas: the garrigue to the south and the deciduous forests to the north (which are magnificent in spring and autumn), as well as the lakes and streams of the Montagne. You’ll enjoy a peaceful setting just 25 minutes from the city of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi, close to the Brousses paper mill and several ‘Cathar’ castles… all top attractions in the Aude region. The house has a garden where you can relax; the stone interior stays cool during hot spells, and the veranda opening onto the garden is ideal for enjoying the indoors and outdoors in the shoulder seasons.
The gîte has an enclosed adjoining garden with a garden table and barbecue. Set amongst holm oaks and chestnut trees, there are numerous walking and mountain biking trails around the village, as well as spots for fishing and swimming in the nearby streams and small lakes.

Parking is available in the garden.

The gîte comprises: an entrance leading into a large veranda which serves as a living room; a kitchen-diner with a fireplace; a bedroom with a 140 bed; a shower room; and a separate toilet. Upstairs, there is a large attic bedroom with one 160 bed and two 90 beds. Board games and books are available.

GITE JUST AU BOUT DU CHEMIN

A large, detached family home spread over three floors, set within a 4-hectare, unfenced estate surrounded by countryside at an altitude of 550 metres, where you can enjoy the heated, indoor swimming pool from 1 June to 30 September. Fully renovated, its south-facing aspect allows you to enjoy breathtaking views over the Aude Valley and the Pyrenees.

Ground floor: living area with a fully equipped kitchen, games room with table football, utility room, WC.
First floor: 3 bedrooms (2 with 140 beds and 2 with 90 beds), bathroom with shower, separate WC. Accessible via the balcony, master suite with a king-size bed or 2×90 beds, featuring a shower and WC.
Second floor: 2 bedrooms (king-size or 2×90), walk-in wardrobe, bathroom with bath, separate toilet.

An electric vehicle charging point is available.

GITE DU REC D’ALBY

This holiday cottage, situated near Lake Laprade, boasts a magnificent panoramic view of the Pyrenees. Tastefully furnished and decorated, you can enjoy the open fire in winter and the conservatory, as well as a shared swimming pool with the residents of the Domaine de la Goutarende.

Horse riders, there’s an adjoining paddock so you can bring your horse along!

There are numerous hiking trails starting from the chalet, suitable for all types of outdoor enthusiasts: walkers, mountain bikers and horse riders (5 routes).

The picturesque village of Cuxac-Cabardès offers all the amenities you need.

LES JARDINS DE L’ARAUCARIA

Ideally situated for exploring the wonders of the South-West, this holiday cottage offers you a break in the countryside just a few minutes’ drive from the must-see attractions. Just 20 minutes from the majestic medieval city of Carcassonne and the impressive castles of Lastours, you can also visit the famous paper mill in Brousses and soak up the rich culture of the village of Montolieu – renowned for its many bookshops and artists – which is just 10 minutes away. Nearby, the hills of the Tarn and the tranquillity of the banks of the Canal du Midi invite you to explore, whether through walks, hikes or mountain bike rides.

The ‘Les Jardins de l’Araucaria’ holiday cottage, adjoining the owners’ home, is nestled in the heart of a lush, peaceful setting on the outskirts of a small village in the Cabardès region. You’ll find a peaceful atmosphere here, ideal for recharging your batteries, surrounded by forests that are perfect for lovely walks or bike rides. Whether you’re a nature lover, a history buff or simply looking for a quiet and authentic break, this place is for you.

The gîte comprises a ground floor with:
– a fully equipped kitchen-diner (TV/digital terrestrial, hi-fi system),

Upstairs:
– a bedroom with a 160cm bed,
– a second bedroom with two 90cm beds,
– a bathroom with a bath and washbasin,
– a separate toilet,

Outside, there is a large flower-filled garden shared with the owners. A swimming pool (8 x 3.50) heated from mid-May to mid-September, accessible at set times (9.30 am–12 noon and 2 pm–4.30 pm), with the option to adjust these slots to suit your daily activities.
For children, outdoor games are available, such as a trampoline and a football goal. Table tennis.

The owners, who are discreet but always on hand, will ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible. Their adorable Australian Shepherd, a very friendly dog, is also part of the experience. Indy is always ready for a cuddle or a play.

DOMAINE DE CAMPRAS – LA CABANE DU TRAPPEUR

Set in the heart of the countryside, far from any noise pollution, the trapper’s cabin offers an exceptional panoramic view of the Aude plain and the Pyrenees mountain range.

This unique cabin, handcrafted from local timber and eco-friendly materials, can accommodate between 1 and 5 people, making it an ideal spot for a couple, a family or a group of friends. Enjoy its comfort and private terrace to fully recharge your batteries.

The cabin forms part of a 2-hectare wooded and fenced estate, which also comprises four self-contained guest rooms, a gypsy caravan and a modern loft. You’ll find a range of activities for all ages: a playground, a panoramic pétanque court, table football, table tennis, giant chess, a picnic area, and an outdoor hot tub with stunning views of the Pyrenees (on request). The horses, hens and ducks on the estate will delight young and old alike.

The estate has a private, enclosed car park.

Nearby, you can explore numerous mountain bike trails and enjoy the GR 7 walking route. For swimming, Lake Lampy is 10 km away. All the shops and restaurants in Saissac are within easy reach in the village, 2 km away. Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi are just 20 minutes away, and the Mediterranean is an hour’s drive away.

DOMAINE DE CAMPRAS – CHAMBRES D’HÔTES

The guest rooms are ideally located near the village of Saissac and its Cathar castle. Facing south, on the ground floor, they offer exceptional and unforgettable views of the Pyrenees and the Aude plain.

The four rooms have independent access, TV, WiFi connection, private bathroom and toilet. In the relaxation room, you will find: microwave, coffee maker, kettle, assortment of teas and coffee, and documentation on the region.

Large wooded area (20,000 m²), jacuzzi facing the view, panoramic pétanque court, playground for young and old, table tennis, table football and giant chess are also available. Horses, chickens and ducks on the estate will delight young and old alike.

LES CHAMBRES DE CLAUDINE – LA PICHOLINE

The Moulin d’Artigues gite includes a lounge/kitchen, a dining room overlooking the waterfall, and a small veranda with garden furniture. On the first floor there are two bedrooms (a double bed and two single beds), a bathroom and a toilet. Beds are made on arrival, and the end-of-stay cleaning service and other charges re included. This gite is not suitable for young children.
