LES CABANES DES FUMADES – ÉCUREUIL

In the Occitanie region, in the Aude department, in Fournes-Cabardès, in the heart of the Montagne Noire on an 86-hectare mid-mountain estate, Philippe and Valérie will welcome you to their two cabins, situated in the middle of the forest at an altitude of 600 metres. The authenticity and beauty of the surroundings will welcome you to this marvellous spot where nature remains unspoilt.

The Écureuil cabin is built using timber from the Fumades forest, crafted and insulated with natural materials. The roof is also made of cedar shingles and has no environmental impact. It has a floor area of 20 m² and a terrace of 22 m². It can accommodate 4 people. Families can enjoy a lovely time together.

A cabin situated below provides a microwave, a fridge and sockets for charging your mobile phones. A cot can be provided on request.

You can stay here as a couple, with friends or with your family. Early in the morning, a hearty breakfast will be suspended below the terrace; a pulley will allow you to hoist it up.

LA PIERREE

Cuxac-Cabardès is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding region.

La Pierrée is a detached house that can accommodate up to six people. It has three bedrooms and a bathroom. The house dates back to the middle of the 17th century and is built of stone with a fireplace.

Situated just an hour from the Mediterranean Sea and two hours’ drive from Spain and the Pyrenees, the Montagne Noire is a particularly rich tourist region, offering châteaux, vineyards and local crafts. What’s more, there are plenty of outdoor activities on offer.

LA SALIMONDE – CHAMBRES D’HÔTES

Nestled on a mountainside, La Salimonde is a medieval-style residence steeped in history. It is situated at the foot of the Four Castles of Lastours (UNESCO) and a stone’s throw from the Michelin-starred restaurant Le Puits du Trésor, run by chef Jean-Marc Boyer.

La Salimonde offers two self-contained guest rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and toilet:

– The Cabaret room has two 90 cm beds and a small sheltered terrace furnished with a table and two chairs.
– The Espines room has two 90 cm beds and a small balcony overlooking the village.

The property is set amongst olive and almond trees. You can also make use of the swimming pool, which is shared with the owners.

CHAMBRES D’HÔTES LA SOURCE ET LA SORCIÈRE

The two gîtes ‘La source et la sorcière’ are in an old farmhouse surrounded by forest. Situated at the foot of the Pic de Nore, the highest point of the Montagne Noire, you’ll enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.

You can explore the area with the whole family. Sports enthusiasts will also find a host of activities on the various hiking, horse-riding, mountain-biking and motorbike trails.
